He received my BS in Micro-electronics Engineering in 2015 and my MS in Electrical Engineering and Telecommunication Engineering from the University of Melbourne in 2017 and 2018 respectively. From Oct 2019 onward, he is working towards his PhD degree with the School of Engineering at RMIT University

Mr Mohammed (Amr) Abdelrahman

Is currently working towards his PhD degree with the School of Engineering, RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia. Mr Amr comes from a very strong industry background and is working on MIMO and Cell Free applications for UAVs

Mrs Nermine Hendy

Is currently a PhD student in the discipline of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, School of Engineering, RMIT university. Mrs Hendy had completed her master-by-research degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering in 2013. Her current PhD research focuses on the applications of Artificial Intelligence and advanced signal processing techniques for Air handwriting recognition using miniature radars.

Dr Iza Shafinaz Mohamad Hashim

Has completed her PhD degree in Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering in 2023 under the supervision of Dr Akram Al-Hourani and Associate Professor Wayne Rowe. After completing her Bachelor's degree with honours in the top 2% of RMIT higher education students, Ms Hashim has decided to join the research community at RMIT in generating ideas, providing practical solutions and pushing the boundaries for the benefit of the global nations.

During her internship, Dr Hashim has developed a deep interest in the field of telecommunications, electromagnetics and signal processing. Since then, she has been actively working on the development of a smart antenna for nanosatellite.

In the future, Dr Hashim aspires to become a prominent female engineer, researcher, and leader in the telecommunications field who will contribute to a better-connected world.

Dr Chiu Chun Chan

Completed his PhD degree at the School of Engineering, RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia in 2022. He also completed his Masters in Telecommunication and Networking Engineering in 2017 from RMIT University. Since 2017 he has been working as a casual academic at RMIT University.

Dr Sruthy Skaria

Completed her Ph.D. degree in 2021 with the School of Engineering, RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia. She also completed her Masters in Electronics Engineering in 2015. Her research interests included consumer radars and its applications in the fields of automotive, gesture recognition, material identification, UAVs, interference issue in consumer radars, and applications of neural network in radar technology. Her publication `Hand-Gesture Recognition Using Two-Antenna Doppler Radar With Deep Convolutional Neural Networks' has received the best paper award runner-up from IEEE Sensors Journal in 2020.

Dr Hiu Fai (Louie) Chan (PhD)

Has completed his PhD in 2020 at the School of Engineering, RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia. He is a lecturer in the Department of Engineering at Vocational Training Council in Hong Kong, and supervises student design projects for RMIT bachelor degree in Hong Kong.

Dr Bassel Al Homssi (PhD)

(PhD, EIT, MSEng, BSEng) has completed his PhD degree in 2020 at the School of Engineering of Electrical and Computer Engineering, RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia. Dr Al Homssi has received his Bachelor of Science and Masters of Science in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the American University of Sharjah, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates in 2014 and 2016 respectively. He also received his Engineer in Training (EIT) certification from NCEES in 2014. Al Homssi also received his Masters in Telecommunication from the University of Melbourne, Melbourne, Australia in 2017. He has worked with the local Australian government on Smart Cities in Melbourne, Australia.

Has completed his Master-by-Research in 2019 at RMIT University on the topic of mmWave communications for UAV networks. He is an experienced ICT professional, having worked with Multinational Telecom Vendors & Operators in multiple domains. Mr Shah is currently pursuing his PhD degree at RMIT University in collaboration with the Automotive industry
